As you use the site, help for the page you are on is available by clicking on the 'Help' link in the top-right hand corner of your screen. You can also look at the Frequently Asked Questions below or the list of other help pages.

To use the service, you first need to register as a user. Once registered, you will then be able to order business, company and company officer reports and documents. You do not have to register to browse through the site.

The process of identifying a company or company officer in which you are interested starts at the Search Page. You can do this even before you are registered to give you a feel for how findout works. You will not, however, be able to order reports or documents until you have registered as a user of the service.

Extensive information is available on the site to help you understand the process of managing company credit and how to get the best out of the information available from us. We suggest that you start at the Findout More page, which takes you through the fundamentals.

You can see full descriptions and samples of our products by looking at the Products section of the site. This will explain what information is available in the various company reports and documents and help you decide which ones fit your needs.

Finally, if you are still unsure, you can contact our customer services team by E-mail, and they can help you to find what you are looking for.

Question: I can't find the company or business I'm looking for
Our database has the complete list of companies registered with Companies House plus over 2 million businesses (i.e. sole traders, partnerships and others). Even so, there may be some businesses that we have not encountered, perhaps because they are newly formed, or that are trading under two or more names. Try checking the spelling of the name of the business or asking them if they are registered under a different name from the one they are trading under. If you still cannot find them, we recommend that you take extra caution and possibly obtain a trade reference

Question: Will I be charged to look a company up?
Searching for companies, businesses and company officers costs you nothing. You will only be charged if you order one of the reports or company documents and complete the Checkout process. All our charges are explained in detail as you order and before you are committed to purchase.

Question: I'm not experienced in company accounts. Is this service useful to me?
We aim to educate as well as providing the information you need. Take a look at our Findout More pages that will help guide you through the process of managing business credit and help you understand what our reports mean. Time spent learning will be amply rewarded!

Question: What if a report does not provide much information?
Absence of information tells you something in itself. Even if the information about a business does not give you a lot to go on, the fact that there are, for example, no County Court Judgments against them gives you more confidence than not knowing.
